The company Ásbjörn Ólafsson ehf was established on the 25th of September in 1937 by merchant Ásbjörn Ólafsson.
The operation has varied since the company was founded but today the emphasis is on importing, distributing and marketing of: Food, confectionery, gift and household utensils, car care products and more. The company is agent for some of the best known brands in the world and is among the largest importers in its fields.
Since its foundation, the company has been owned and run by the same family. Currently the ownership is by the founders grandchildren. Today the company employs around 40 people.
Ásbjörn Ólafssson Ltd. was located in Skútuvogur 11a for 14 years, but moved its location to Köllunarklettsvegur 6 in March 2006.
